First Time at a Desert Shooting Range? Here Is What to Expect

Desert shooting is consistently one of the top-rated Las Vegas experiences, and it is easy to see why. You are in the open Nevada desert, firing weapons most people have only ever seen in movies. Here is everything you need to know before you go.

What Actually Happens. Your transportation picks you up from the Strip and drives you out to a professional outdoor range in the Mojave Desert. You receive a safety briefing from certified instructors and then, under close supervision, you fire a selection of firearms. The experience is safe, controlled, and incredibly fun.

The Weapons. Depending on your package, you might fire a Desert Eagle pistol, an AK-47, an AR-15, an M16, a shotgun, a 50-caliber sniper rifle, or even machine guns. The Ultimate Desert Storm package adds explosives to the mix. Your instructors will help you handle each weapon correctly.

Is It Safe? Absolutely. These are licensed, certified operators running professional ranges. Your safety is managed at every step. The instructors are former military and law enforcement in many cases. Thousands of first-timers do this every year and it is one of the safest activities we offer.

What to Wear. Closed-toe shoes are required. Jeans or pants are recommended over shorts, and a t-shirt is fine. Hearing protection and safety glasses are provided. Leave any loose jewelry or scarves at the hotel.

Which Package to Choose. If this is your first time, the 4 Gun Special with Lunch at $199 is our most popular recommendation. It gives you a varied and exciting selection of weapons, includes lunch, and is a complete half-day experience. If you just want to try it quickly, the One Gun and Done at $49 is a great no-commitment intro.

Booking Tips. No prior experience or license is required. You must be 18 or older to participate. Book in advance as these tours sell out, especially on weekends.
